Job Summary
Ensures sufficient inventory levels to meet customer demand while tracking to reduce losses and inefficiencies. Accountable for the day-to-day maintaining, receiving, tracking and coordinating assets and consumables housed within the UITS warehouses and stockrooms. Provides governance of the data maintained for assets and consumables processed through the University Information Technology System department for KSU use. Involves several inventory control processes to count, examine, move, order, and dispose of stock as needed. Responsible for testing and verifying that technology equipment is in working order before final processing for use at KSU. Has an influential role in inventory planning and strategy.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*:
1. Maintains receiving, warehousing, and supports distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing processes and procedures
2. Organizes and maintains technology equipment stored in warehouses and stockrooms
3. Maintains accurate records of all IT assets and respective locations
4. Pulls stock and/or new items to stage the parts list for upcoming installations
5. Conducts regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with IT records
6. Controls inventory levels by enforcing the use of standard processes, conducting physical counts, and supporting technology audits
7. Responsible for developing the list and quantities for stock items and consumables ordered
8. Ensures assets are properly maintained and tracked in the UITS IT asset and inventory management system
9. Receives and evaluates new and returned technology equipment, assigns asset tags as required, tests for damage and proper operation, and ensures all equipment is updated in the UITS IT inventory and asset management system
10. Engages with other technology staff to address KSU needs while ensuring governance of processes and data for all assets and consumables
11. Uses analytical skills, creates system reports, monitors system output, and updates data to resolve issues and maintain accuracy of data
12. Develops data queries, system reports, and/or analytical dashboards that meets the needs of the department to analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in inventory management

14. Files various asset and inventory documents in accordance with IT Operation's processes and policies
15. Manages assigned IT warehouses and stockrooms and responsible for the inventory of IT equipment, including receiving, processing, and tracking of IT assets
16. Makes recommendations for updates and/or modifications to the IT inventory management policies and procedures, including asset tracking through surplus disposal, and ensures adherence to these policies and procedures
17. Works closely with IT teams to coordinate the movement of IT assets and ensures the availability of inventory
18. Participates on inventory process improvement teams and identifies improvement opportunities for potential integration into supply chain and inventory strategies
19. Leads and contributes to various projects to improve processes and flow of assets and consumables
20. Processes and maintains weekly equipment surplus, adhering to USG and DOAS procedures on removing university technology, maintaining accurate records of each transaction in the UITS IT asset management system
21. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements related to IT inventory management
22. May be responsible for delivering items to campus locations
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted driver's license
KSU forklift training within 30 days of employment
KSU driving requirements for UITS vehicles (i.e., Box Truck) within 30 days of employment
Required Experience
Three (3) years of related information technology, warehouse, and/or asset management experience demonstrating a progression of increasing responsibility.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
Preferred Experience
Proven experience with an asset and inventory tracking systems (i.e., ServiceNow)
Proven experience with an ordering system (i.e., PeopleSoft)

Able to interface appropriately and professionally with students, faculty, staff, and grant sponsors
SKILLS
Self-starter with strong interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, and relationship building, along with an ability to translate between technical and functional teams
Proficient with computer applications (Microsoft Excel an absolute) and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, ServiceNow, Peoplesoft)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
