The Economics & Political Science department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a Public Policy / Economics / Political Science full-time, tenure track Faculty position.

The undergraduate college at St. Catherine University is one of only six US institutions that is both a women's college and a minority serving institution. Based in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota, St. Kate's is home to a diverse group of nearly 3,500 students in varying disciplines and degree levels. The Economics and Political Science Department contributes to a wide array of majors, including Economics, Financial Economics, International Business and Economics, International Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, Women and International Development, and a Non-Profit Studies minor. The department also houses the Minnesota Center for Diversity in Economics and is committed to gender and racial diversity at every stage of the educational and career pipeline.

Responsibilities:
  • The selected candidate is expected to have responsibilities in teaching, research, and service. The teaching load is six sections (24 credits) per academic year.
  • Applicants from all fields are welcome and should expect to teach introductory and upper level courses within their area of expertise. Strong candidates will be comfortable teaching public policy & introductory statistics as well as more advanced topics courses that appeal to students from a variety of majors.
  • The creation of knowledge in the discipline resulting in its dissemination through the publication of peer-reviewed articles is expected. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to university service. The selected candidate will be responsible for advising undergraduate students and is expected to engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, school, campus, community and professional organizations.
  • Applicants should be prepared to work collaboratively to support students who are passionate about social justice and plan to use their training to lead and influence.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • All But Dissertation (ABD) in Public Policy, Economics or Political Science or a related field


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred applicants should have a Ph.D. (in Public Policy, Economics or Political Science or related field) by the beginning of September 2025
  • Demonstrated evidence of a commitment to excellence in research and teaching.
