James M. Hull College of Business at Augusta University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time tenure-track position in Management Information Systems at the Assistant Professor level, with an anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2025. The selected candidate must have a demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant, peer-reviewed intellectual contributions. The workload will be dedicated to research, faculty development, and a course load of 2-3 courses per semester term. Candidates should be prepared to deliver courses online, as hybrid online/face-to-face, and face-to-face with a strong preference for candidates who can combine these approaches in an assigned section.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems, conduct peer-reviewed research, and provide service to the university, college, community and/or profession.

Duties 1 - 50%

Teaching Expectation: Teach classes during the academic year as assigned by the Dean, to include all of the duties and obligations expected of a college professor not limited to, but including grading, maintaining regular office hours, class preparations, and following university policies regarding teaching

Duties 2 - 40%

Research expectation: Persistent scholarship leading to national/international recognition and impact. Key measures of success include publications and presentations appropriate to your field, which can include articles on instruction in your field as well as other activities.

Duties 3 - 10%

Service Expectation: Service to Augusta University as requested by the Dean, service to the profession, including local, regional, and national/international leadership within the discipline

Required Qualifications

PhD in Management Information Systems, or a closely related field. Demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions is required. Equally important is the demonstrated capability or potential for teaching excellence within the discipline.

Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.


Preferred Qualifications

Published or forthcoming peer-reviewed publications in related disciplines are a plus, as is prior work experience in management. Interest in interaction and relationship-building with local businesses, and stakeholders, as well as having online teaching experience.

A record of excellence in teaching and learning is desired along with excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
