Adjunct Professor: Computers and Information Technology ( Spring 2025)
Course Description: MAC 1075: Computers and Information Technology

This introductory level course is aimed at students with little or no prior programming experience but a desire to understand computational approaches to problem-solving. Topics will help students prepare for using computational methods in their chosen field or prepare students for easier entry into computer science majors. To accomplish the above goals students will learn basic through intermediate computer concepts allowing for a broad and robust understanding of computer science and programming. The course emphasis is on the introduction of a number of computer programming languages and concepts including C, Python, and JavaScript plus Scratch and Snap Block Programming.

Qualifications:

Education: M.A./ M.S./ Ph.D., post-docs, or experienced academicians with a background in a related discipline (e.g.- computer science)

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary:

Base rate: $3,375.00 per 3 credit course.

Terminal Degree: Adjunct Faculty members who hold a terminal degree shall be paid an additional $300.00.

Hours Expectation: Spring Semester 2025 (Jan 21st 2025 – May 9th, 2025h)
