Adjunct Faculty, Computer and Information Sciences
Campus Location: multiple locations
Work schedule: Consistent with MCCC contract

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The STEM and Business Division invites applications for current vacancies to teach introductory Computer and Information Science courses beginning in the Spring 2025 semester. Current openings are for daytime courses at our campus in Lynn, MA and at high school sites in Lynn through the Early College program.
Other courses may be also be available depending on credentials and expertise. We anticipate offerings in future semesters as well.
The current openings are for CPS100 Information Technology and Its Applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach courses as assigned by the Division Dean.
- Prepare course syllabi, proctor and grade course assessments as scheduled, report final student grades, and complete student alerts by the specified dates each semester.
- Develop and apply assessment strategies that maximize the learning process and measure student learning outcomes
- Attend required meetings which may be held virtually, at NSCC Campuses, or at high school sites.
- Embrace the ideals of diversity and inclusiveness and support the equal rights of all people by advancing the understanding and appreciation of differences including age, race, gender, ability, religious convictions, socio-economic status, ethnic heritage, or sexual orientation.
- Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
Job Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Computer Science or comparable experience in a closely-related field with graduate-level credit in a related subject area.
- Available to teach in person at NSCC campuses in Lynn, MA or Danvers, MA
- Evidence of successful teaching experience.
- Evidence of commitment to and experience working with a diverse student body
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
PREFERENCES
- Community College teaching experience
- Experience with Blackboard or similar Learning Management System
- Predisposition to working in a dynamic environment requiring flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork
- Strong evidence of passionate commitment to striving for excellence in working with students and in responding to opportunities that extend the mission of the College
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Information:
SALARY: Adjunct salaries are dependent upon the number of credit hours. This is a non-benefited, MCCC position.
